General objective
The Diploma in Optometry aims to provide students with the basic concepts and skills necessary in the specialty of optics through theoretical and practical applications consistent with work requirements, and also:
 Providing trained human cadres in the field of applied optics for the public and private sectors
 Empowering healthcare professionals to serve their patients in a more professional and effective manner
 Preparing participating members in the modern health care team.
 Strengthening the relationship between the university and society.

 Job opportunities for graduates:
This diploma is classified by the Ministry of Civil Service and approved by the Commission for Health Specialties. It qualifies the graduate for the following jobs:
The graduate is appointed to the health jobs cadre at the second level, and to the general ladder of civil jobs at the sixth level for the technician category.
- It provides the opportunity to accommodate graduates in general and specialized hospitals in the public and private sectors as optometry technicians.
- Provides the opportunity to accommodate graduates in primary health care centers as optometry technicians.
- Working as an administrative assistant in a medical center.
